Close to Vigo · Away from the Crowds

Train: around 15 minutes between stations. Our recommended option for avoiding road traffic and the search for parking in Vigo. Journey times depend on the stations and service; allow extra time to walk to the station and from the arrival station to the lights.

Bus: around 30 minutes. Another way to reach Vigo, with journey times depending on the route, stops and traffic.

Car: around 15 minutes in light traffic. At Christmas, traffic queues, road closures and parking can make the journey considerably longer. Take the train if you would prefer to avoid these delays.

Journey times are approximate. Check timetables and possible engineering works with Renfe or plan your bus journey with Bus Galicia, and arrange your return journey before setting out.

When do Vigo's Christmas lights switch on in 2026?

Dates and times are announced for each edition. Before finalising your 2026–2027 break, check the official Vigo City Council calendar for the switch-on date and the end of the season.

What is there to see in Vigo at Christmas?
